Steve D. Knapp, P.E., CVFI, CFEI Receives Award from NSPE Colorado Chapter for 2017 Project Manager of the Year

Congratulations to Steve Knapp, P.E., CVFI, CFEI for receiving the award for 2017 Project Manager of the Year from the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Colorado Chapter!

Steve has a passion for motorsports, accident reconstruction and technology.  These three areas converged over the last year with the reconstruction of the Tony Stewart accident involving Kevin Ward Jr.  The accident was partially captured on video and Steve was able to use his knowledge of vehicle dynamics, motorsport racing and videogrammetry to reconstruct accurately the motion, speed and driver inputs of the Stewart vehicle leading to the collision with Ward.

He mentors younger engineers and teaches the basic concepts of forensic engineering to entry level employees.

The NSPE Awards ceremony took place June 15, 2017, at the Lone Tree Golf Course and Hotel in Lone Tree, CO.

More information about the awards ceremony can be found on the NSPE-CO website.
